Mystique Residences and ResortZanzibar, Tanzania
In a quiet corner of Zanzibar, on a gentle slope falling towards the ocean, a special place has been created - Mystique Resort. The key to the design of the villa complex was to make the comfort of future users an absolute priority. The architects from the very first stages of the project accompanied a deep analysis of the needs of future residents and the search for paths to implement them. The gradation of privacy zones arranged successive spaces around the daily rituals of the residents. Swimming pool areas welcoming guests, spacious lounges connected with them, comfortable dining rooms with kitchenettes, and then deeper-set bedrooms around a private garden. The whole world has been carefully crafted to provide the perfect space for relaxation in the vicinity of the beaches of the ocean. The contemporary form of the buildings draws inspiration from the rich history of Zanzibar, a mosaic of Indian, Arab and Swahili trends. This architecture is also made of local materials. We use the colors of local wood, local coral mosaic, light plasters and natural floors. The studied proportions of the façade, subdued rhythms of windows, partitions, and arcades create a harmonious background for relaxation in a luxurious space. Deep arcades, carved openwork shutters and the layout of the building itself in relation to the sides of the world make us get the best of the Tanzanian sun. The advantage of the establishment is also the variety of available villas and apartments. Depending on expectations, we can find here both luxurious one-story villas with a private garden, swimming pool, panoramic terrace, neat two-story villas and apartments in intimate low-rise buildings. Within the complex, in the shade of Tanzanian tents, there are also common spaces at the disposal of residents, such as a coworking space, a leisure lodge by the swimming pool, an intimate gym with a place to practice yoga in the vicinity of a baobab, or a playground for children. All this is to serve the needs of the new Mystique community.
